Compact fluorescent lightbulbs have come a long way since first introduced in the 1980s. We personally tested dozens of compact
fluorescent lightbulbs in our showrooms, offices and homes to ensure that we offer compact fluorescent lightbulbs with the best
quality of light and lifespan. Compact fluorescents need a few minutes to reach full power after they are turned on, but once warmed
up the light they emit is now similar to the warm glow of incandescents. Once your fixture is installed and the shade is on, you
probably will not be able to tell whether you are using an incandescent or compact fluorescent lightbulb. Although they are more
expensive than "regular" bulbs, compact fluorescent lightbulbs save you money in the long run by reducing energy use and bulb
replacement costs. While compact fluorescent bulbs are designed to screw into standard sockets, the fit depends upon the size and
configuration of your fixture and shade. Therefore, note the size of each lightbulb and be sure to select ones that will work with
your light fixtures.
